A section of the White Carpet |
I've been attending quite a few premieres for the past two years, and while it's a lot of waiting in line, it can also be a lot of fun. The Star Trek Into Darkness premiere was the first time I was at a premiere which had fan grandstands/bleachers. Everyone one in the bleachers received a wristband to watch the movie, but alas we were not in the Dolby Theatre where the stars were, but were in one of the six theaters in the Chinese 6 Theatres inside the Hollywood & Highland Center.
I went with a friend of mine from work and we walked around a bit looking for the line. During which time I took a couple of pictures of the set-up, and my friend was almost "kidnapped" by two women dress as Catwoman. That was a bit of a funny story, but I won't go into that.

Unfortunately, I had found out a few days before the premiere Simon Pegg and Benedict Cumberbatch wouldn't be at the Los Angeles premiere. I love those two and was disappointed, but not deterred AT ALL.

We got our wristbands which also had our designated theater number for the screening and entered the bleachers. They handed each of us a Star Trek Into Darkness t-shirt which they wanted us to wear. I didn't put mine on because it was a really warm day and didn't want to add a black t-shirt over my clothes.

Usually, you aren't allowed cameras, but I had my small camera in my purse (which I could have hidden if they did a bag search if necessary) so I was able to get some pictures.

The movie had filmed for about a day at my work, but when I saw the film I was completely surprised by how many scenes they filmed.
